Check Layers

Check Layers is a preset from the Retouching Bundle. Create layers that help you analyze your image. There are nine help layer ins in total. Create them separately or all at once.

Layers

You can turn all check layers on or off with one click.

Invert Inverts the image and is particularly useful in combination with other layers, such as the solar curve, channel mixer, hues, saturation, etc.
Solar Curve A curve that exaggerates differences in an image. Aberrations can be found that way, that could be overlooked by the naked eye on the screen.
Contrast Increases the contrast in the picture. The intensity can be defined in the options.
Black & White Desaturates the entire picture.
Channel Mixer Turns the picture into a high-contrast, black and white image, in a way that blemishes become visible. Depending on the picture, the red and green channels should be adjusted.
Neutral Color Neutral gray tone in blending mode difference. It helps to find neutral colors (shown as black), e.g., to make a clean white balance.
Increase saturation Increases the saturation in the picture. This will make even pixels visible that contain only 1% of color and could be mistaken for a neutral tone.
Hues on gray Neutral gray tone in blending mode luminance. It helps to display color areas in a picture. Colorless regions, e.g., pure shades of gray, black and white, appear as a neutral gray. Colors appear bright or pale depending on their saturation.
Hues on black Like the color check layer, this layer helps to display color areas in a picture. Instead of a neutral gray tone, black, white and all shades of gray appear black.
